## Dynamic Unary Encoding 动态一元运算编码方式

Hey friends.

I recently wrote a scientific paper titled Introduction to Dynamic Unary Encoding. The style of that paper aims to reach a wide audience. Those just learning about data encoding will find the basics presented thoughtfully. Others may recognize elements of Higher Mathematics. All in all I will appreciate your input here.

Many questions come to mind now. I wonder about what place in the Universe and Mathematics Dynamic Unary belongs. What is it really? It seems as if it can can utilized as any normal number and yet as a mathematical object it’s true nature could be one of constant motion. Is this something of the Future to come?

There are many things that can be said and considered. One thing I was chatting about today with a friend was how Binary numbers have the qualities of having a fixed value yet the length of the binary string they exist in can theoretically be considered infinite if we tack on an infinite amount of zeros to the end of that binary number.The value wouldn’t change if we do. We Humans get around that by defining bit space as Bits, Nibbles, Bytes, Words and so on.

Now consider a number that is made of the opposite qualities of the familiar binary number. A type of number that has a finite length of binary digits and a value that changes. That number is the cycle of elements generated by dynamic unary.

So what do we have here?

It would seem it could be Cryptography’s Holy Grail.

Does dynamic unary have a place in Physics? Does it explain why or how things like Electrons spin? Does it explain why or how particles appear to pop in an out of existence?

Is Dynamic Unary actually the correct data type for Quantum Computing?

I wonder if its a part of the functioning of our brain?. Think about it if a neuron firing has some value and the neural network is connected by the cycles of dynamic unary then with one input many other neurons are accessed. Nature loves efficiency.

The same applies to Artificial Inelegance. What an efficient means of grouping instructions or processing multiple inputs. “Gotta love xor.”

I have so many questions and to use a saying “If It Is all That” then what?

That is the Right Question.

Currently my attention is on Dynamic Unary as the data structure of the Tao.

Truth be told a relationship of the Tao, Tao Te Ching, and the I Ching with Dynamic Unary is possible.

I am striving to find proof that the Chinese knew about Dynamic Unary in some form over four thousand years ago.

I will try and establish the relationship but it may not be directly possible. I therefore conjecture that Dynamic Unary is the Tao in as much as it is a mathematical object and a possible inspiration of Taoism and the I Ching.

I welcome arguments and challenges to such a conjecture obviously.

I, naturally, am humbled by the great works that is Taoism and The I Ching. I present this conjecture with great respect to the Tao and I Ching.

The first invitation to submit for publication has been received. A good comprehension of what this means “to publish” is on the agenda today. It is one thing to have an idea, It is another to write it down and still another to step forward and communicate the two to the World.

You know I think I had a solid week of “No-Think” Programming-Block perhaps.

The update just before tomorrow’s update seems to have been drafted with an older draft. Now I didn’t see that and so “went code blind.”

Here is a small C Program that appears to generate the Elements and Cycle counts correctly.

I am very interested in any formula that includes string length one.

It has been an interesting couple of weeks for me on the topic of Dynamic Unary.

What sums it up best is what my nephew asked me recently and that is ‘What do we use dynamic unary for?

The best I could offer is to share what I have done with this new data type and ask him what will he do with it.

Myself, I construct data encoders and ponder the nature of information. What does seem very wise to say about Dynamic Unary is to ask everyone “Has there ever been a mathematical object that is useless?”

Perhaps I had the easy job of simply introducing Dynamic Unary and the challenge is to see where it fits in.

It’s an easy thing to see that given a binary data of finite length that because of the cycle of DUE there are many “States” that data can be in. Naturally in our age the idea of “Quantum-Things” is a part of our mindset so there is the direct and obvious aspect of Dynamic Unary.

There are two reasons that I placed my paper on ArXiv.org at this time and they are that my Father, who just turned 98, deserved to see a result of something sooner rather than later and the second reason is I did not want to be like Isaac Newton and have to fight about who did what first. I had no standing in the Scientific Community other than hanging out on Usenet. Because of both concerns four years of research seemed reasonable for an introduction to:

The wisdom that won the argument is that while I could continue to expand what I can say about Dynamic Unary it is the World of people that will define Dynamic Unary best.

It is perhaps a kind of dynamic number and if so then it may be part of our Physical Universe. If so it will take Physicists and Mathematicians to sort things out as it will be an introduced element in an already established system of reasoning.

On the Spiritual level I am very comfortable with being in Leibniz’s circle of friends in that the Eastern Philosophies appeal to me over Western Philosophies.

So what is Dynamic Unary becomes what is Dynamic Unary to you.

We will find out in time.

Well with the Grape Harvest season in full swing here in California I have little time to work on things but I did come up with an idea that turns the Surjective encoder mentioned in the Paper into a program that will encode 40 bits in 38 bits.

Naturally all 2^40 integers are not possible and even though the new algorithm will generate 2^39 integers the Pigeon Hole principle is still Holy in that I am sure the 2^39 integers represented by 2^38 bits will not all be unique integers.

The progress on this is a daily effort but will be slow as I wake early and work an hour and a half before I go to work. After work I am rather tired from the heat and hard work so I do some but nothing dramatic at night. Much more interested in pillow-face time then keyboard time.

Still it is exciting. Exciting especially because I realized this algorithm after claiming Magic Compression of Random Data. LoL! I fooled my self big time.. I also told others I had “done it.” Oh well.. I will not be claiming anything before I walk it all the way through.

So the next thing with dynamic unary is a new version of the surjective encoder which may find all the 40 bit words that make up the Million Digit File and have 38 bit codewords representing 40 bit source words. It’s possible since the first surjective encoder had 2^38 elements total and found all the words in MDF this new one will have 2^39 elements. Yet if this version doesn’t find them all a simple changing of variables may be the answer. What I am saying is that if one set of variables doesn’t work trying another set might.

Well that’s what is next.

It’s a bit exciting.. I am seeing a lot of matches during the testing phase and it’s a lot faster than Version3.

While this new version is technically a new design it’s more like swapping out the motor of a car with a different type.

The first version had the first type. Then came the second type of engine and we can call it version2 then I changed out the transmission to make version3. This is now Version4 different engine again but the rest of the vehicle is more or less the same.

What I hope is that the set of variables I have picked finds all of the Million Digit File. If not I must try other variable sets. It is now a function.

I am ordering a new 8 core AMD 8350 so I will be clocking at 4ghz on all eight. I hope to do the fastest run yet with the new CPU and the new Version4 codenamed Surjective2

Well the AMD 8370 is a 125 watt chip and AM3+ it is also 4.4 ghz with 4.7 turbo

Sadness : Tigerdirect.com when asked if the chip they were selling was really a 125 watt chip said yes it was in two different phone calls.

Turns out when confronted with what BioStar replied to me in EMail that the 9000 series is 220 watt only then they finally admitted they were falsely advertising that chip.

I can only think this was a ploy to get rid of inventory using customers like me who believed them. I have a 125 watt motherboard and power supply so I called them twice to be sure they were not lying and once they even told me it was a new energy efficient version of the 9370.

Needless to say I am now buying from Amazon or other.

So, the serious work will continue after a new order has been made for the 8350 series. Believe it or not the CPU cooler I like best is a liquid cooler and costs more than the chip.

Speaking of that. I have decided to bring my blogging from Mark Nelson’s site about the Million Digit Challenge here to EBerg.us

I have worked on “compressing random data” for over 12 years and in that time I have found I am alone in the quest. That I post and it feels like it falls on deaf eyes there I might as well add content here.

So in the near future I will add a new thread here so I can blog about my progress.

I am still working a lot of days in a row but I do get Monday September 1st off so I plan to work on a new design of that “Random Data Compression” function. A next in a series of a couple hundred by now I am sure. Getting closer. I am generating 38 bit codes that generate 40-bit words.

If you have read my paper I welcome comments on how expand on the paper into say a small ebook.

Version Seven of my paper is now on arXiv and is more reader friendly.

I’m thinking that it may well do now.

I expanded the Drop-T algorithm section so if that encoder construct interested you there is a bit better explanation there now.

Also I dedicated the paper to my stepfather who liked to get up really early on Sunday and work mathematics and drink coffee. He made me realize maths can be for fun too.

I also welcome any folks who know things about physics and spinning of particles since as a complete orbit dynamic unary objects might be why particles behave the way they do.

I have an interesting idea on explaining Wave/Particle where dynamic unary “Q-numbers” may be why things spin and are structured the way things are.

It’s possible!

I continue to think about the mathematical object complete orbits make.

If they are related to quantum bits (QBits) which an argument can be made as single bits do “spin in two directions” and they are a mathematics related to quantum computing then we have Q-Integers with dynamic unary orbits. Think about it. If there exists QBits and length one is a QBit then Quantum Computing has not QBits but Q-Ints! Where each bit can be spinning in one or the other direction! Meaning a 4 bit word has 4 bits where each is a QBit.

So you see I keep thinking on this. I believe no mathematical object is useless. I continue to consider where these Dynamic Unary objects belong and what Mathematics would use them as dynamic numbers.

I also ponder the concept of Point Particle in physics. Perhaps Point particle is an outdated idea? Point particle may be a dynamic object and not a point. The Particle could be energy in a dynamic unary cycle. All Particles could be dynamic unary objects!

It has been a long time since I added to this thread so I am doing so right now.

I want to write about the “dynamic integers” oft dynamic unary.

Given that any finite length binary number is but one element in a cycle of elements because of dynamic unary a new class of number is realized.

So these mathematical objects are spinning either in the “encode” or the “decode” direction.

That they are changing value and dynamic introduces an interesting question.

What mathematics uses these dynamic integers? Yes in an age where we have great skills with static numbers there exists a class of number that is dynamic and we need to think hard because there has to be a mathematics that uses them.

As far as mechanics goes, I design C-Language constructs with these dynamic integers. I imagine others will find applications too.

You know I think I will be renovating this site. I am still learning about word press so I may want to reformat things now that I am more settled.
